Civil War Leather Cap Box Longley Co Lewiston MeCivil war leather cap box longley & co. Brief research seems to indicate that the company made these cap bxo for the north during the civil war. However this cap box does not have a date stamped on it nor do i see a u. What i can say about this cap box it measures 3 1/4 across, 1 5/8 inches deep, and approximately 3 inches top to bottom. hTe catch button on the bottom is made of brass. The leather is crazed and one of the back belt loops is broken. The company's name and town is a little hard to read but is readable on the inside lid flap there are two flaps.
