British Army 17Th Lancers Foul Weather Chapska

British Army 17th Lancers Foul Weather Chapska

A british army lance cap, more correctly known as a czapka or chapska of the 17th lancers. This is a foul weather lance cap, which is the reason for its lack of decoration, it would have been worn in the harsh conditions of the crimea during warfare.

It is complete with ist cords, both bosses and its chin chain, and it is the larger type of cap, the pre 1855 model, and would have been worn at the battle of balaclava and the infamous charge of the light brigade. After 1855 lance caps became smaller than this model, and so therefore this one has guaranteed history behind it. As with everything we sell it is guaranteed authentic and original.

The silk interior is present but requires attention. Please ask with any questions.
